Utilities & Services
Utilities for our Community are provided as follows:
Trash Collection
TRASH & RECYCLING is collected on the same day each week. Garbage and yard waste on Tuesday and Friday; Recycling on Wednesday.
•Trash may not be left on doorsteps, balconies, or courtyards. Violators are subject to a fine as outlined by Section 12- Fines of this document.
•Trash is collected twice a week from dumpsters located near the rear overflow lot. Dumpsters are for household trash and garbage only. Allowable items must be bagged and placed in dumpsters. Please do not place cardboard boxes into the dumpster and separate out recyclables (glass, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, etc).
•Large objects, such as: furniture, TV's, rugs, mattresses, trees, tree limbs, tires, doors, building materials, etc. are not allowed in or outside the dumpsters. It is the homeowner's responsibility to make arrangements to remove these items offsite. Batteries and other chemical waste must NOT be placed in or beside the dumpster either as this violates state law. Violators are subject to heavy fines, to include but not limited to: disposal fee for the removal of an item, as well as an additional fine. Please remember that anything left there becomes a financial burden for the community that we pay additional fees for disposing.
•The Board recommends donating or removing unwanted household items, by: 1) posting on community bulletin board by emailing: sandyforksplace@yahoo.com), 2) advertising locally on www.nextdoor.com, 3) delivering to local Goodwill (919-878-3933), or 4) disposing for no-charge at the Wake County landfill at 9008 Deponie Drive (919-856-7400).
•Place recyclables in recycle bins located near dumpster. Acceptable items include: newspapers, magazines, catalogs, paperboard, flattened cardboard, mixed paper, junk mail, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and jugs, soda cans, non-prescription pill bottles, and metal cans. The items do not need to be separated or sorted. For larger quantities, the closest recycling center is located beside Wake County landfill at address above.
